Many students pause lessons for summer holidays, which can reduce bookings. Use the steps below to keep your calendar healthy while supporting your students.
1) Understand students’ summer plans
- Ask regulars early: Send a quick message to confirm who is traveling and who wants extra practice time.
- Mind time zones: If you teach internationally, note school holidays and adjust availability to match when those students are free.
2) Adjust your Availability Calendar
- Open Dashboard ▸ Availability Calendar.
- Add/extend blocks for mornings and early evenings (often easier for summer schedules).
- If you’re personally away, temporarily remove your availability for those days/weeks (there’s no "break” switch; just close your slots).
3) Experiment with hours to reach new students
- Offer a few early morning or late evening slots to overlap with other regions.
- Try a consistent 2–3 week experiment, then keep the slots that get booked.
4) Use downtime productively
- Refresh your profile: Update your intro, teaching highlights, and profile video.
- Improve materials: Draft new warm-ups, repertoire lists, or practice guides you can share in lessons.
- Budget check: Plan for a lighter month so your finances aren’t surprised by seasonality.
5) Communicate clearly
- Post brief availability notes on your profile (e.g., "Expanded morning times for July”).
- Message current students with any temporary schedule changes and offer alternative times.
Quick tips
- Weekdays 15:00–21:00 (student local time) and weekend mornings often perform well—use them as a starting point and refine from your actual bookings.
- Review your calendar weekly in summer and adjust based on what’s filling.
