Receiving lesson requests on Muzeg is exciting, but it's important to respond quickly. Here’s how to manage a new lesson request effectively:
Steps to Take
Respond Promptly: Ensure the student knows their lesson status as soon as possible. Here’s what you can do:
1. Accept the Request
- Confirm the Lesson
Review the lesson request carefully. If the time, date, and price are suitable, click 'Accept' to confirm the lesson. This ensures the lesson is officially scheduled and the student is informed.
- Send a Welcome Message
After confirming the lesson, send a friendly message to the student. Include the lesson details and preparation instructions. This helps the student feel welcome and prepared.
- Add the Student
Connect with the student on your chosen communication platform (e.g., Skype, Zoom, or the Muzeg platform). Provide clear instructions for them to add you. Ensure everything is set up correctly before the lesson starts.
- Be Ready
Be online and ready to start the call at the scheduled time. If necessary, initiate the call. Have your lesson plan and materials prepared, and guide the student smoothly into the session.
2. Modify the Request
- Suggest Changes: If you need to adjust the time or price, modify the request first. Propose the necessary changes and wait for the student’s response.
- Explain Your Changes: Send a message to the student explaining why the changes are necessary. The student can then decide whether to accept or decline the modifications.
3. Decline the Request
- Decline Promptly: If you can’t accommodate the request, decline it immediately. This allows the student's Muzeg credits to be freed up so they can find another teacher.
Key Reminders
- Always Respond: Ignoring a request can negatively impact your attendance rate.
- Don't Reschedule After Accepting: Only propose rescheduling if you have discussed it with the student beforehand. Make necessary changes before accepting the request.
Scheduling and Response Time
Lessons can be scheduled with at least 2 hours' notice. You must respond within 24 hours or before the lesson time. Failure to respond will result in the request expiring, the student's credits being refunded, and your attendance rating will be affected.
Changing the Lesson Time
To adjust the schedule, select "Change date/time" on the lesson request. You can choose any time, even if it's not listed in your regular calendar, which is useful for one-off lessons or special requests. Finalize the new time and date for the lesson and await student approval. The student has 24 hours, or until the original lesson time, to accept the new schedule. If they don't respond, the request will be automatically canceled.
By following these steps, you can efficiently manage lesson requests on Muzeg and provide a professional, seamless experience for your students.
