Payments Must Stay on Muzeg™
Accepting or requesting payment outside of Muzeg™ is a serious violation of our Terms of Service. Every lesson must be paid for through the platform.
Adherence to Muzeg™ Policies
- Strict policy compliance: All lessons with Muzeg™ students must be paid through Muzeg™. Failure to comply may result in account suspension or removal. See the Teacher Code of Conduct.
- Teacher expectations: Review requirements in Teacher Policies & Code of Conduct.
- Report off-platform payment requests: If a student asks you to pay outside Muzeg™, decline and email hello@muzeg.com. For guidance, see Online Lesson Policy → Report a Problem.
Risks of Accepting Payments Outside Muzeg™
- Unprotected payments: Off-platform payments are not covered by Muzeg™ safeguards and may not be honored.
- Reputation loss: Bookings and reviews on Muzeg™ build trust. Moving transactions off-platform undermines that trust and your standing.
- Privacy exposure: Handling payments on Muzeg™ helps protect your personal contact and financial information.
- Missing records: Muzeg™ maintains lesson and payment records to support you if something goes wrong. Off-platform activity leaves no official record.
- Harder dispute resolution: When lessons and payments stay on Muzeg™, issues can be reviewed and resolved more quickly.
Trust in the Marketplace
Off-platform payments bypass posted prices and scheduled times, eroding confidence for students and teachers and harming the overall marketplace. For standard payout flow and fees, see Withdrawals & Payouts (including minimums & fees).
Consequences for Teachers
Requesting or accepting off-platform payments may lead to one or more of the following (as allowed by our Terms): account suspension or removal, cancellation of related bookings, and forfeiture of remaining credits associated with violations. Review the Teacher Code of Conduct for details.
What to Do If You’re Asked to Go Off-Platform
- Politely decline and remind the student that all payments must be completed on Muzeg™ (you can link them to this policy).
- Continue the conversation and scheduling on Muzeg™ only—see the Online Lesson Policy.
- Report the request by emailing hello@muzeg.com with the student’s name, profile link, and chat screenshots if possible.
